About the webmaster and his website


I used to recommend another web site in English about gay Buenos Aires but then realised it was no longer maintained and the information on there was out-of-date and misleading. The other web sites in Spanish also have the same problem so my intention is that this web site will be the best source of information for gay visitors to Buenos Aires. This is my view of Buenos Aires gay life after trying to put myself in the place of a gay tourist considering a visit or just arrived in the city. I created and maintain this web-site just as a pastime; I do not ask for any payment or other benefits from any of the businesses listed here.



I originally started a bLOG after the terrible fire tragedy in the city on December 30th 2004 to keep people informed of the revival of the gay scene after just about every public indoor space including bars and discos was closed by the city government.

My name is Ian, I am from Manchester, England, and I am a retired project engineer and company director. I have been living in South America since September 1997, firstly in Lima, Peru, and from April 2004 until September 2007 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have traveled extensively around South America and I have a reasonably good knowledge of gay life and places in Lima, Peru; Quito, Ecuador; Santiago, Chile; and now Buenos Aires, Argentina . The best advice I can give to any independent traveler intending to visit this continent is to join the South American Explorers whose information resources, services and discounts will undoubtedly make your travels easier and cheaper.
